On New Year's Eve, while vacationing in his holiday haven in Hawaii, Barack Obama signed into law, S1867, The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). In the earliest version of the NDAA, BO had publicly threatened to veto it, saying he had reservations about such a dictatorial bill. But in fact, behind the scenes the White House had been lobbying for STRONGER language, giving the President even more power than the sponsors of the bill had originally intended. This he finally got. The supporters of the act claim it's a necessary corollary to the "War on Terror". But "terrorist" is a plastic word and it can be shaped to fit anyone the ruling elite don't like.
The NDAA has a detention clause which gives the President, or a successor, sweeping powers to abrogate the Bill of Rights and due process by arresting suspected "belligerents" and sending them to a military prison, indefinitely without charge or trial. Rather than inform Americans about such a threat to their Constitutional liberties, the American msm relegated the story to the back pages. They, as usual, were much more concerned about the tramp of the week's latest woes. BO has promised that his administration will not use the extreme power the NDAA gives him. Sure....
Since 1878 the Posse Comitatus Act has restricted the powers of local governments and law enforcement agencies from using military personnel to enforce the laws of the land. The detention clause in the NDAA is effectively a death certificate for the Posse Comitatus Act. Perhaps Obama will actually make good on his word and won't implement the dictatorial powers contained in the NDAA, but what about the next guy?
So, who might these "terrorists" be that Senator Lindsey "Shut up! You don't get a lawyer!" Graham is so worried about? So worried that he'd trash the US Constitution in order to save the US? Well, it isn't necessarily Al-Qaeda. It could be you! If you are one or more of the following, you could be a "terrorist" according to the US government:
You (possibly).
A returning veteran.
Someone who owns guns.
Someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed.
Someone who has more than seven days of food in their home.
Someone who opposes abortion.
Someone who opposes same-sex marriage.
Someone who opposes restrictions on firearms ownership.
Someone who opposes the immigration inundation of the US.
Someone who opposes social welfare programs.
Someone who opposes continuation of free trade agreements.
Someone who fears communist regimes.
Someone who opposes a one world government.
Someone who bemoans the decline of the US.
Someone who's upset with the offshoring of American jobs to China, India, etc.
All these people were indicted by the 2009 Dept. of Homeland Security report on "Rightwing Extremism". The Feds have since tempered their language and amended the report accordingly; but it is certain beyond a doubt that the earlier version reflects the real thinking of the Dept. of Homeland Security.
