The Fields
The millions of Utopia
Sprawl vagrantly
Across the killing floor
Pale apostles of some hollow fame
And had names
Now turned to silence
To make numbers of us all
The millions of Utopia
Stare sightlessly
Into a starless sky
Soft machines in hard reality
But the grass grows green
Grateful for the nitrogen
Of things that moved and breathed
The millions of Utopia
Dream sleeplessly
At the trumpet's tired sigh
Beyond anger no less than to joy
Today the fields are still
Though waiting patiently
For the Utopias to come
The millions of Utopia
Grin knowingly
About the buzz of lies
And say: As you are so once was I
Across the lonely steppe
A lonely tree gives shade
To lonely souls upon their lonely way
Citizenfitz
Sprawl vagrantly
Across the killing floor
Pale apostles of some hollow fame
And had names
Now turned to silence
To make numbers of us all
The millions of Utopia
Stare sightlessly
Into a starless sky
Soft machines in hard reality
But the grass grows green
Grateful for the nitrogen
Of things that moved and breathed
The millions of Utopia
Dream sleeplessly
At the trumpet's tired sigh
Beyond anger no less than to joy
Today the fields are still
Though waiting patiently
For the Utopias to come
The millions of Utopia

About the buzz of lies
