The Slow Motion Operation - 500 Days In
It's hard to figure out guys like Col. MacGregor. He's been predicting Ukraine's imminent defeat for almost 500 days now. Yet his poor track record of prophesying has done little to tarnish his reputation. Not to say he's deceptive, which I don't believe. What really interests me is that in spite of all his failed forecasts he still has a fan club. ???
None of the "overwhelming" Russian offensives he's predicted have materialized, the borders are about what they were 400 plus days ago, all the bridges over the Dniepr river carrying men and materiel to the front continue to do so, totally unmolested by Russian attacks. Why?
The electricity is still on in Kiev, Kharkhov, Lvov, Odessa, etc. The internet is still up, the trains still run, the water still pours from countless faucets, the Rada still meets, unbothered by thoughts of possible Russian airstrikes. Donetsk is still being regularly shelled by the Ukrainians... as it has for the past nine years. Why?
Well, at least Putin has stopped prattling on about "Our Western partners".
The Slow Motion Operation in Ukraine is going that way for one reason only: because Putin wants it that way. Why?
Vladimir Vladimirovich appears to be a man who sees the World in terms of years... decades.... Not the next cocaine fix - which seems to be the mindset prevalent in Washingstein DC these days.
Yep, Putin is without a doubt thinking the "long game" regarding Ukraine. Part of this must be about destroying the Ukrainian army and scattering it to the four winds. He's been fairly successful there, but there must be more than that. Is wrecking NATO his real goal? He's had some success there too, but that's still a long way off. Maybe a hard winter in France and Germany will have a desireable outcome. Maybe.
Or maybe he's read and internalized the book "Report From Iron Mountain". A so-called satire - which is anything but satirical - and in which the study group behind the report comes to the conclusion that peace is NOT desireable for a modern superpower - BUT WAR IS. War has many beneficial side-effects for those who hold power... and those who desire to increase their power.
Whatever the reasons for the Slow Motion Operation in Ukraine, there really is no good side in this war. Only various shades of evil.

Interesting sites. I will check them out. But you can almost feel that something big is coming at us.
